Join the Library
Membership is available free to everyone, even if you don’t live in the Camden area. You can join at any branch of the library by presenting proof of your name and current address. There is no minimum age for joining, but those under the age of 16 years require a signature from their parent or guardian.
Your library card can be used at both our Camden and Narellan Libraries.
You can apply for a card in person at either library.
You can also apply online and a card will be posted to you. This card will immediately allow you borrow ebooks and other eresources. You will need to come into a library to show ID within 3 months of joining, to keep the card active.
WHAT CAN YOU BORROW
All individual members can borrow a total of 20 items. The 20 items can be made up of any combination of lending items. Items may be borrowed for a period of 3 weeks (21 days). No restrictions on number of items apply to any “regular” collections.
Special loan conditions apply to Book Club items.
RETURNING YOUR ITEMS
You can return items to either library, regardless of whether you borrowed them at Camden or Narellan Library. After hours chutes are available when libraries are closed.
The library does charge fines for overdue items. Fines are charged each time the library issues an overdue notice. Fines are currently set at:
- First notice and second notice - $3.50
- Third notice – $5.00
RENEWING YOUR ITEMS
If you are not ready to return your items on their due date, you can extend the loan period for items. Please note items cannot be renewed if they have been reserved by another customer, are overdue or if you have $15.00 or more in fines.
